Memes and  graphics are a highly common occurrence on nearly every outlet of social media these days. You don’t know why you are drawn into them but they catch your attention and before you know it you have stopped to look at what the author had to say. People are naturally visual and it is involuntary to be drawn to visual stimulus in social media graphics and memes. So next time some says “a picture is worth 1000 words” they actually mean it. In this case your graphic is worth your 60,000 word count. Like it or not besides your cover, memes are one of the few ways to draw readers to learn more about your book. A text social media post alone will see 60% less interaction than the same text post with an image.

One thing I have run into often is that authors have no idea how to go about making these and making them look professional and eye catching. Therefore I have created this video clip to show you two programs we use, Canva.com and Picmonkey.com to create beautiful social media memes and graphics. Let us know what you think of the tutorial and if it helps you to create your next meme. Share your meme on Twitter using @AuthorNetworks or @Burnett1031 for a retweet of your graphic!
